As activity in academia winds down a bit during summer, we have more time for uninterrupted development at Global Campus. Now, with two new colleagues on board in the development team, we’re bringing even more new features. And lots of extra goodies are scheduled for next month!

So, what have we been up to?

First and Last author filter - Previously, Global Campus had the option to find experts based on publications for which they were first author or only count those where they were last author. There’s now an extra option, where you can select both first and last author positions

Source name filter - We’ve added a ‘Source Name’ filter, allowing you to only match with publications that where published in a particular journal or venue, or in a list of journals. This is a helpful filter to limit the result set to authors that already publish in particular journals, such as a publishers’ own journal portfolio.

Email Address feedback - Based on corresponding authorships, Global Campus is able to find an email address for most suggested experts. For the remainder, we do automated query-time searches through search engines. This month, we have replaced Bing search with Kagi search, and added the option to validate or prefer certain email address candidates.

Easy organization switching - Are you involved in work for multiple organizations, for example as an editor for multiple publishers? You can now switch your active organization with a single click.

Data pipeline updates - We’ve updated the frequency with which we harvest new content: we now update papers in Global Campus every day !

Batch removal - To more quickly cycle through the results, some search modules now have the option to refresh the entire list with a new set.

Signals API integration - Find out more about our new integration with Signals in this dedicated blog post.

Small fixes and updates - We’re now highlighting the source of a potential conflict of interest in the warning label, and allowing exclusion for either co-affiliations or co-authorships.

COI 2

  • Sidebar scrolling on smaller screen has been improved.
  • Fixed an issue where on smaller screens, the title of a modal could be hidden by the top navigation bar.

There’s more to come!

A number of other features did not yet make the august cutoff, but are very close to launch, so stay tuned for another set of nice additions to Global Campus come September!
