The KU Leuven Internal Funds unit is successfully using Global Campus in its’ annual search for expert reviewers to evaluate research proposals submitted by researchers in internal competitions. Global Campus works as a semantic search tool that provides suggestions of high quality reviewers world-wide that are close to the subject matter of the proposals (also in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences). The search tool is easy to customize and allows for the fine tuning of search results if needed. The Global Campus team has been very accommodating in the integration with the KU Leuven ICT platform as well as in making changes to the platform in order to better suit KU Leuven needs.
Overall, the annual quest for expert reviewers has become significantly easier and the selected reviewers are generally better suited than those found with the systems we previously used.
